Obituary of Kittrel J Porter

. Kit Porter, 57, of Olympia, Washington, died in Wenatchee on July 2, 2005. Kit was born in Carthage, Indiana on September 7, 1947 to Joseph and Lola Porter. He married Rhonda Gardner in Indiana in 1975. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda, daughter, Molly and son, Damon, all of Olympia; and his mother, Lola, brother, Alva, and nieces and nephews, all of Greenfield, Indiana. Kit earned his Bachelor and Master degrees at Butler University, Indiana. He began his teaching career in Indiana, and then taught English, journalism, and photography in the Yelm and Chehalis School Districts both in Washington. Kit was an award-winning professional photographer who, with Rhonda, ran Images by Kit, their photography studio. Kit was a profound athlete, inspired artist, and lover of the natural world. His complete devotion to family and friends, reverence for life, generosity of spirit, and ability to bring laughter to each life he touched will be missed immensely. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Masonic Center, 521 North St., Tumwater, Washington, 98501. A memorial account for his family's education has been set up at Twin County Credit Union, 2400 Evergreen Park Dr. SW, Olympia, Washington, 98502.
