Obituary of Allen Plue

None Allen F. Plue Allen, 79, passed away at his Lacey home on Thursday, June 30, 2011. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, July 11, 1931. He was raised by his parents Napolean and Marjorie. He graduated from St. Martin University. Allen served in the U.S. Army having served at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Germany, France, Ft. Meade, Maryland, Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Madigan Hospital, Ft. Lewis, Washington retiring from Tripler Hospital, Hawaii. He was a Command Sgt Major with Combat Medics having 2 combat jumps in Korea and 2 tours in Viet Nam, 1 with the 5th Special Forces the other with the 101st ABN and received a Silver Star. He retired from the Army and then went to work as a Deputy and became Chief Deputy for Thurston County under then Sheriff Gary Edwards. He enjoyed gardening, jumping out of planes (Good Ones) and working with people. He was a student of Masonry having been active in many of the Masonic organizations, as well as community organizations, Kiwanis, Footprinters, American Legion, VFW, and of course his family. He married Margaret B. Gates, August 20, 1952 in Springfield, Tennessee. They raised their family and travelled with his military career. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Margaret Gates Plue; son, Robert and his wife Sue and their children Rachael and Simon; daughters, Marjorie B. Young and her sons Buddy and Jason; Barbara Voorhies and her children Alicia and Erik; Laura Parsons and her husband Gary and daughter Katheryne and her husband Adam; Sarah Shellmer and her children Brian and Mallorie; also two great grandsons, Jayden and Austin all of Washington. Memorial services will be held at a later time at the Masonic Lodge in Tumwater. The family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice. Please leave your remembrances on the guestbook below.
