Obituary of Margie Pettit

Margie Jeannette Pettit Margie Jeannette Pettit (Wharton) peacefully passed away at home in Rainier, Washington on September 21, 2008 due to complications of diabetes and cancer. Margie was born on April 8, 1938 in Rainier, Washington to Clifford and Viola Wharton, who preceded her in death in 1980 and 1984. Margie graduated from Tenino High School in 1956. She made her home in Rainier, Washington and lived there most of her life. She is survived by her two sons, Terry Mason and wife Jessie, of Rainier; Troy Pettit and wife Roni, of Olympia; grandson, Casey Mason Muxen, of Tenino; granddaughters, Sydney and Sarah Pettit, of Olympia; sister, Luceile Koher and husband Ted, of Redding, California; brother, Clifford Wharton Jr., of Rainier; sister, Judy Pittman and husband Dennis, of Rainier; brother, Jerry Wharton who preceded her in death in 2003; and sister, Loretta McCarty and husband Rick, of Rainier; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Skeeziks. Margie had a tender heart and dearly loved her family. Family was always most important to her. She loved having family gatherings and sharing time with everyone. She was very proud of her two sons, Terry and Troy, and immensely enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Margie loved holidays and lit up like a child on her birthday and at Christmas. She loved to read, go shopping and proudly displayed her love for jewelry and shoes. Despite her struggles with illness in her early life, she was a beautiful soul and kind to everyone who met her. She will be admired and remembered for her strong will to live. She loved life and fought hard not to give in to her illness. Margie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her and she will never be forgotten. A graveside memorial service will be held at Yelm Cemetery on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
