Obituary of Anne Perkins

none Anne Elizabeth Boulton Perkins Anne Boulton Perkins, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away on June 20th, 2011 after a two year struggle with cancer. She was born to Donald MacArthur Boulton and Helen Lovejoy Boulton on March 25th, 1934 in Evanston, Illinois. She attended Albion College and graduated from Iowa State College, and after her marriage to John Bryant Perkins in 1957, lived in Portland, Oregon, Methow Valley, Washington, Gold Beach, Oregon, Petaluma, California, Klamath Falls, Washington, and since 1972 in Hoodsport and Lacey, Washington. Poet, homemaker, musician, and teacher of piano and cello, she was artistic and adventurous, and fostered a spirit of cheerful community everywhere she went. She loved canoeing, campfires under the stars, family gatherings, and travel, and she had a life-long association with Scouting and the United Methodist Church. She was a 50 year member of PEO, and a founding member of PEO Chapter GQ in Mason County. Cultured, practical, and kind, she was loved and cherished from the day she was born to the day she died, and beyond. She is survived by her husband of 54 wonderful years, John Perkins of Lacey, Washington; her brother Robert and sister-in-law Elizabeth Boulton of Medina, Ohio; her son Brian Perkins and his wife Anne of Thomaston, Maine; her son Daniel Perkins of Breckinridge, Colorado; her son David Perkins and his wife Terri of Olympia, Washington; her daughter Ruth Huling and her husband Patrick of Olympia, Washington; and her grandsons Benjamin, Nathaniel, Samuel, Matthew, and William Perkins. The famiy suggests memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Assured Hospice of Thurston/Mason County, 2102 Carriage Dr SW, Bldg D, Olympia, WA 98502, or to the Boy Scouts of America, Pacific Harbors Council, 5737 Linderson Way SW, Tumwater, WA 98501.
