Obituary of Helen Forney Pelis

Helen took her last big trip November 6, 2007, leaving the physical world behind her. She was born January 16, 1917 to Emerson and Dessie Forney in LaPorte, Indiana. She made her home in Lacey for close to 50 years.Helen would not want a big fuss made over her passing. For those who cared, she will be remembered for her paramount love of family, dedication to education, and a desire to touch, in a positive way, as many kindred spirits as possible. Her accomplishments were many but she remained modest about them. She would, however, readily tell you about her world travels sharing pictures, books, and stories of those trips. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and son Sheldon (Kathleen). She is survived by her daughters Jeanne Pelis of Tumwater, Serah Rodriquez of Prescott, Arizona, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. This lovely lady will be held dearly in the hearts of those that loved her. At her request, there will be no funeral service. A private gathering will be held at a future date.
