Obituary of Dean Mitchell Pavletich

Dean Mitchell Pavletich August 7, 1961-April 2, 2012 “His big stature was accompanied by an equally big heart filled with generosity for friends and strangers alike.” Dean was born and raised in Aberdeen, Washington, and graduated from J M Weatherwax High School in 1979. He attended Grays Harbor College, and worked for Al’s Auto Supply and Grand Auto. He then founded his own painting company. In 1999, he went on to found “Red Rock Holdings,” a contracting company. In addition to Red Rock, he also worked with Washington Industrial Coatings. He resided in Shelton. Dean loved life and enjoyed many hobbies, including riding his Harley, cooking and barbecuing for his friends, snowmobiling, and running marathons. Dean was a caring, loving and giving man. He loved entertaining and socializing with his many friends. He was well loved by his family, friends, “work” family, fellow Chinook Tribal members, and all those who came in contact with him. His big stature was accompanied by an equally big heart filled with generosity for friends and strangers alike. He was known for surprising his nephews and nieces and others with special gifts, and helping friends who were in need. For many years, he worked tirelessly to support the South Sound Harley Owner Group’s annual Olympia Toy Run Coalition for the benefit of children served by the Salvation Army. Dean enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and clam digging as well, and he truly loved to vacation at the beach. Dean is survived by his parents, Mitchell and Karen Pavletich of Aberdeen; a brother, Jack Pavletich and his wife Esther of Aberdeen; and two sisters, Teresa Dean and her husband Rick of Olympia, and Kate Wakeman and her husband Gary of Aberdeen. He is also survived by four nephews, Blake and Parker Dean, Jordan Wakeman, Jack Pavletich Jr.; and two nieces, Rachel and Joanna Wakeman.
