Peggy Engen Parker
Peggy Engen Parker, 85, died May 15, 2009. She was born Jan 3, 1923 in Aberdeen to Lorrie and Esther (Howenstine) Engen. Peggy graduated from Weatherwax High School class of 1942. On July 12, 1945 in East Liverpool, Ohio Peggy married Jack C. Parker, who survives.
She worked as a telephone operator, school secretary, Weyerhaeuser Administration secretary, and was a Navy wife. Peggy enjoyed sewing, spinning, skiing (snow and water), sailing, and traveling. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star Amaranth.
Including her husband, Jack, Peggy is survived by 1 son, Gary B. Parker, of Juneau, Alaska, a brother, Richard B. Engen, of Woodburn, Oregon; also 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patti D. Parker and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Masonic Temple, 521 North Street S.E., Tumwater.
