Obituary of Jane Parke

Jane Parke Jane Parke, long-time resident of Olympia, passed away February 26, 2012. Eva Jane Stouffer was born in Minnesota on January 17, 1925, and raised in Iowa, where in 1946 she met and married David H. Parke. Jane and Dave raised their family in Bettendorf, Iowa and Downers Grove, Illinois. When Dave retired in 1981, they moved to Olympia to be near family. A talented and energetic woman, Jane attacked any project with confidence – sewing; tole painting; furniture caning, refinishing, and upholstery; watercolor painting; golf; stained glass; electrical wiring; pottery; and many more. Her greatest passion was for duplicate bridge, and she was a Silver Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League. She was loved and will be missed by her children, Christine (Steve Tilley), Jeffrey (Nancy Carter), and Cindy Mrkvicka (John); and her grandchildren, Adrian Tilley (Jessica), Emily Parke, and Claire Tilley. She is also survived by great-grandson, Anderson Tilley; as well as Arthur and Lorrine Parke, Janice and Frank Dumerauf, and their families. Her husband Dave preceded her in death two years ago. The family appreciates the excellent care Mom received from Dr. Burnell Schaetzel-Hill, Dr. Kathryn Wagner, and the staff at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center. There will be a gathering to celebrate Jane’s life at Bonaventure of Lacey, 4528 Intelco Loop SE, Lacey, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7. A family service and internment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
