Obituary of Helen Louise Owen

Helen Louise Owen Helen passed away peacefully at St. Peter Hospital with family members at her bedside on December 12, 2006. Helen was born to Nora and Oscar Alcorn on New Years Day, January 1, 1929 in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent her early years in Pixley, California and moved to Toledo, Washington in 1943 and later moved to Olympia in 1954. Helen enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations and making great meals. She also took great pleasure in working with nature’s colors creating beautiful flower, shrub and decorative arrangements. Helen was a very gentle, kind, spiritual and nurturing person. Her caring ways and infectious sense of humor will be missed by her family members and all the lives she touched. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Boyd Owen; a son, Rick and his wife, Lou Owen of Olympia; a daughter, Deborah Owen of Olympia and granddaughter, Keri Owen of Olympia. Helen is also survived by three brothers; Ray Alcorn of Escondido, California, Gene Alcorn of Bremerton and Roger Alcorn of Bothell. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Turner of Nashville, Tennessee.
