Obituary of Margaret Ervina Overman

none Margaret Ervina (Larson) Overman, 88, died on Thursday, November 24th, 2005 at Providence Centralia Hospital. She was born October 31, 1917 in Regan, ND to Christ and Marie (Jenson) Larson. Her parents emigrated from Bergen, Norway in 1905. Her mother passed away in 1933 when Margaret was 15 years old. She had to quit school to care for her 9 siblings. She moved to Washington State in 1941 and was a long time resident of Centralia, WA. On February 9, 1952 she married Bert Wesley Overman in Aberdeen, WA. He passed away on October 13, 1973. Prior to her retirement in 1982, she was a nurse's aid and worked in various nursing homes in the Centralia area. She was also a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Marie (Art) Pannkuk of Centralia, WA; a son, James Overman of Forks, WA; and a brother, Edner (Arlene) Larson of Camas, WA. She had 6 grandchildren, Mike (Susan) Pannkuk of Centralia, WA; Christine (Bryan) Johnston of Chehalis, WA; Brenda Kenser of Rainier, OR; Autumn Overman of Arizona; Jodie Hames of Tenino, WA; and the grandson that she helped raise, Carl Overman of Forks, WA. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Nathan Chris Overman on May 13, 2005, 3 sisters; Minnie, Annie, and Cora; and 5 brothers; Conrad, Lyle, Melvin, Ivar, and Irvin. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 2:00p.m., at Fort Borst Park Kitchen #1 in Centralia, WA with Pastor Leif Holmes officiating. A potluck reception will immediately follow the service.
