Obituary of Joyce V. Orr

Joyce V. Orr (Wheelwright) Joyce V. Orr (Wheelwright), 77, passed on August 9, 2009. She was born February 3, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Aaron Wheelwright and Floetta (Erwin) Wheelwright. On October 23, 1953 in Elko, Nevada, she married Romer R. Orr, who survives. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Romer R. Orr of Lacey, WA.; Son, Rodney R. Orr of Lacey, WA.; Daughter Angela Cockcroft; Grandson, Brandon Cockcroft of Bonney Lake, WA.; Granddaughter Dawn Sawka of Kent, WA. (Which she raised as one of her own children); Granddaughter Cynthia Bond of Lacey, WA., Jessica Orr of Lacey, WA.; Grandson Ryan Orr of Richmond Hill, GA.; 2 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. She worked as an accountant in various hospitals throughout the Seattle area for over 30 years, retiring from the University of Washington as the Comptroller. Joyce loved to knit, sew, and travel. She worked hard earning herself an Associate’s degree from Edmonds Community College and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Puget Sound. Joyce was a gracious, charming, compassionate, and fun-loving lady with a limitless good nature. She loved her work and her family and she was dearly loved by all who knew her. She will be missed by all. Services and a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
