Obituary of Floyd E. O'Neal

No Visitation is Scheduled Floyd Efton O'Neal, was born Dec. 31st, 1942 in Reeds Springs, Missouri to Floyd O'Neal Sr. and Irma O'Neal. Floyd lost his Mother at the tender age of 8 years old. He grew up in Oregon in the community of Green Acres with good friends and family.He joined the Army when he was a late teen, retiring after 20 years with a rank of Sergeant Major, serving three terms in Vietnam. He was in special forces, and was awarded a Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Clusters, among many other awards. He traveled the world including, South East Asia, Central America and Europe. Some of his accomplishments in the Military were, Radio announcer, Journalism and Photography, where he won numerous awards for his unique eye behind the camera. He is survived by his 4 children: Brenda O'Neal (WA), Debbie O'Neal (WA), Judy O'Neal (CO), and Floyd O'Neal III (CO), and several Grand children. His cousins Peggy and Harley Brimhall, Aunt Irma and Uncle Ray Taylor both of Oregon. After he retired from the military in the early 1980's, he started a Dart Supply Business, which he was active in until the mid 1990s. He played electronic Darts, but was a Steel Tipper at heart. Not many could beat him at his favorite dart game of Cricket. Deep Sea fishing, reading science fiction novels, and making computer cards and DVD's for friends and family were just a few of his passions. Floyd was a man that lived life the way he chose, you always knew where you stood with him. He had quite the sense of humor and was always ready to tell a good story or a joke... He was a loyal friend to many along the way. Once you had his friendship, it was there forever. He will be missed by many.
