I last saw Stephen a few years back when he came down to CR to visit my father (Vincent P. Gaston, MSG). My dad and Stephen were both SF team mates. We sure had a good time. Stephen was very liked in CR by many people and I'm sure he will be missed by all of them. Just like all other great warriors he also deserves a break, may he rest in peace.

Steve was my cousin. I found great enjoyment in listening to his banter of stories about anything... his military life, growing up, hunting, retired travels, some of the good ole days or how to cook a certain recipe. Steve you were such an interesting fellow and blessed with good fortune to live the colorful and interesting life you surley did live. You will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Dear Steve and family members,
I am one of Steve's cousins. His mother, Jean, and my mother, Peggy, were sisters in the "Franklin" family. I am 8 years younger than Steve, but remember him well in my early years. From the days of his riding Cushman scooters in San Francisco, to his brief stint in the USAF, his service to our country in the US Army, to his retirement, and every thing in between. I have always looked up to Steve as he was the "Big Brother" I never had. He is loved, honored, appreciated, and above all, will be missed. All our deepest love, sympathy, and condolences to his family and friends.
Sincerely,
Chuck and Patsy Schiele - Fort Worth, TX.
