We are happy that email made it easier for us to stay in contact with our father.
We are sorry that living on opposite coasts made it so difficult to spend time together in person.
We feel particularly sad about the timing, as we had been planning a visit in October for his birthday.
When we lived on the ocean coast in Florida, we can remember watching the radar screen a few hundred feet up the beach rotate to tracking position. We would yell to our parents that a missile was going to go off, so that we could all go watch it.
We will always cherish the native dolls that he sent to us from his travels with the Air Force.
We appreciated his encouraging our academic endeavors.
We are very sorry that our mother's state of health prevents us from attending.
You can not see us sitting here, as we are at home in Sauquoit, N.Y. holding a private prayer service during this funeral and remembering the good times.

Joyce, God will bless you richly for the dedication you had taking care of your father! You a rare gem of a woman that your father was very blessed to have. You were taking care of Grandma Lois, Grandpa Frank, and Grandpa Art all at the same time for awhile there. I really admire your unselfish love and dedication to family! God will bless you richly! I love you!

So many memories which do I share? The most important one is: that you loved me and all of us kids each in a different way. What impressed me the most was the character that both you and mom showed by never ever saying anything negative about one another to me.
My earliest memories are of Christmas Eve's with you at Aunt Genevieve's house with all the family and cousins...especially the Christmas Aunt Danny passed down to me the Alaskan Eskimo coat-it made me have such a sense of family.
Just before you went into the service, you, Jerry, and I shot empty can's with a BB gun. Then we buried the can's and said we would dig them up on your first leave back home...which we did and to my amazement they were still there.
We remained connected through letters and I still have the dolls from Germany...of course they all have mustaches now...thanks to Jerry!
When you retired and moved back here I so admired that you were there for your mother in her later years.
You taught me a lot about the mechanics of electronics which has served me well through the years. After your stroke, I remember I was fixing something electronic for you and you asked me how I knew to do it. I reminded you that you had taught me...that brought such a big smile to your face...we were both proud at that moment.
I find it interesting that we share so many God given talents...our love for organizing and our list making, computers, electronics, rollerskating and of course our both being "pack rats"!
I am blessed that God allowed me to get to know you as an adult. We went through several illnesses these latter years, but we always said that our "Guardian Angels" had to work a lot of over time with us. You always enjoyed our lunches out together, especially when Uncle Mike joined us...you always said you couldn't have ordered a better brother and how proud you were of him and his family.
You were a very private person and in our discussions we talked about how God made each of us unique. I will miss you but I know you are now at rest in Christ's loving arms.

Randy and Joyce and O'Keefe Family and Friends
God always gives us the unexpected as a way of testing our Faith. Although we have not had the honor of meeting Art the stories we have heard made us feel as we were all one Family, united with our marriages.
Art has now joined all those that have passed and they will guide him and he is now 'Home' again with God, where we all began, when God gave us Life
Love Rich and Cindy
I wish we were there for you as you were here for us...

I didn't really get to know Grandpa, I'm told I met him when i was very little. I told Aunt Joyce, but I'm so sorry I cannot be there to support the family.
