Obituary of James Ockerman

James P. Ockerman James (Jim) Preston Ockerman died on Sunday, January 3. He was 68 years old. Jim was the youngest child of Hyrum and Violet Ockerman, born January, 21, 1941 in Rupert, Idaho. The family moved to Olympia later in 1941 where Jim remained for most of his life. Jim attended Olympia High School graduating in 1959. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Darla. He is survived by sister, Caroll Day and brother, Delray. In 1961 Jim married his lifelong partner Charlotte (Johnson). Jim was employed at Crown Cork and Seal in Lacey, retiring in 1997. In 2005, Jim and Charlotte moved to Hoodsport where they enjoyed golfing and spending time at Lake Cushman. Jim is survived by Charlotte and their two sons; Jim, his wife Kelly with their children Amanda and Bryce, and Jeff, his wife Lisa and their children Kyle and Megan. Also, in 1979 Flosi Sigurdsson joined the Ockerman family, bringing wife Kristen with sons Erik and Ian. He will be remembered by many nephews, nieces and close friends. Beyond spending time with his family, Jim enjoyed golfing, gardening and RV camping around the Northwest. In lieu of cards or flowers, donations to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, P.O.
