Obituary of B. Michael Oberst

none B. Michael Oberst, 58, a 50 year resident of the Olympia and lacey areas, passed away March 1, 2006. He was born May 11, 1947 in Longview to Franklyn and Ramona Oberst. He graduated from Olympia High School and took some college classes. In April of 1966, Michael married the former Bonnie Leslie who survives.Michael was a union member working as an Operating Engineer and in later years he worked in the Logging Industry. He liked camping and all out of doors activities,gold panning, four wheeling, photography, and helping people with odd jobs as needed and if capable. He held membership in GloryHouse Foursquare Church. Michael is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Thurston County; 3 sons, Michael Alan, Franklyn, and Christopher, all of Thurston County; two brothers, Tim Oberst, of Gig Harbor and Sal Oberst, of Oregon; 6 sisters, Peggy Dewan, of Arizona, Janine Johnson, Mary Couttz, Monica Salvatore, all of Oregon, Martha Oberst, of Thurston County, and Gretchen Ericksen, of Seattle; also 6 grandchildren. Mike will be greatly missed, especially by those lives he touched where others did not see; he made a difference to those he helped. He didn’t help where others would see but because he cared.
