Obituary of Kimber Lea Norton

Lady Kimber Lea Norton, 59, passed on to our Saviour Jesus Christ on 15 November 2011. She was born at La Jolla (San Diego), CA on 1 November 1952, to Paul David Vander Meulen, Jr. and Marlene Marie (Richmond) Vander Meulen. She graduated from Chico State University. She was married to LTC(R) William Gary Norton on 5 September 2001. A four-star chef, she owned and operated “Personal Touch” catering service. Her career included being a motivational speaker for “Redken®”, radio station owner, middle school teacher and track coach, AAA regional manager, sales, JAYCEES, and part owner of GK Cims Décor business. She was a member of Zora Temple No. 5, Daughters of the Nile, Olympia Chapter No. 36, OES and Chehalis Chapter No. 250, WOTM. She is survived by her daughter, Cynda Hopper of Edgewood, NM and step-daughter, Michelle Henderson of Winston-Salem, NC. Her son, Jeffrey predeceased her in 2008. She is also survived by her grandchildren, DaCyn Walsh, Danney Brown, Sarah Taylor, TaLyn Hopper, and Gentry Hopper. Everyone should at least once in their lifetime experience a “Kimber” and by the Grace of God, we have. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children (253-565-2055) or to Scottish Rite “RiteCare” (206-324-6293).
