Dear Lloyde, We want to express our thankfulness to you for your careful planning of yesterday's amazing memorial service for your Bruce. Not a minute went by that we didn't appreciate, and we were wishing to continue to listen to what people were sharing from their hearts. May God bless you mightily in the days ahead!

Psalm 91:1 "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." I will remenber most that Bruce lived a life of total commitment to his faith, Christian education, and his family. He often inspired me with his thoughts on the greatness of God, the priviledge to teach young people about God, and his ministry in his church and to his family. It has been my priviledge to have worked along side him. Knowing him made me a better person, teacher, and Christian. Rest well, Bruce.

Bruce was a strong user of our media center and visited us at least once a week to gather materials to enhance his teaching. He often talked and conversed warmly with each and every media staff member. We considered it a high point of our week to have Bruce 'drop by'. We will miss his visits and miss his desire to enhance his classroom with input from our staff. He was truly the consummate teacher and professional. We were fortunate to have known, Bruce. Dear Lloyd, Family and loved ones;
Bruce was so special to so many, and he "finished the race" very strong. I know that God is saying "Welcome home and well done". But he will be missed. He made such a difference in the lives of my children, I can't even began to tell you how much he meant to us. I smile everytime I think of his sense of humor and encouragement to my family. Thank you for sharing him with all of us and may you take comfort in knowing that he made such a difference in so many lives. We are so saddened, as his death seems so premature. Our thoughts and prayer are for comfort. Love to you, Terri

Lloyde, I am the parent of Aron Roberts who was Mr. Newman's teacher in 8th grade. Mr. Newman was a great source of inspiration for him, a great track coach and a funny loving person. Even though our son was at ECS for only a year, Mr. Newman's "antics" are still loving, fun discussions at the dinner table, including a visit to the Washington History Museum which we were all lucky to attend as a family with Mr. Newman. We were saddened to hear of his passing but know "he is in a better place". My prayers are with you during this period of loss.

Bruce was a good person and an excellent nephew to my mother, whom he always went out of his way to visit during his class trips to Washington, D.C. She has been very grateful for this, and has always spoken glowingly of these occasions. We were blessed by his presence. He will be missed, but his memory will be cherished.

Lloyde - we are so sorry to hear about your loss. Our prayers are with you. Bruce was a wonderful, warm, friendly, inspiring, and kid friendly man. All the kids interacted with Bruce at one time or another. They all found him easy to talk to, fun and hard working. He will be missed. Take care - if there is anything I can do for you just call. The Oregon girls need to stick together.
