Obituary of Kathy Nelson

Kathy Janett Nelson Kathy was born on March 3, 1958 in Centralia, Washington. She died peacefully August 30, 2011 at Evergreen Care Facility in Olympia Washington. Kathy had lived at Evergreen for the past 6 years and lived in Onalaska, Washington from 1958-2001. She was a long time member of the Shoestring Valley Church in Cinebar, WA, where she helped with Children’s Sunday School and bible studies. She was also a proud member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. Kathy was President of the Resident Council, Editor of the Newsletter and was a strong advocate of residents' rights at Evergreen. She loved to visit on the phone, play her video games, and watch Mariners baseball. She loved her family and friends dearly and shared her strong Christian faith with everyone. She touched many hearts through out her life. Kathy is survived by her parents Margaret and Joe Barnes of Toledo, sister Krystal Grizzle-Carter of Lakewood, brother Bryan Grizzle of Longview, brothers-in-law Ron Carter of Lakewood and Brett Martin of Shelton, nephews Konrad and Riley Carter and Jarrett Martin, nieces Sammy Jo Whittaker and Missy Grizzle, special friends Alex and Noreen Novion and many cousins, aunts and uncles. Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved “Granny” Blanche Nelson, Grandfather Edmond Nelson and aunt Ruth Glaze. Donations can be made to the Kathy Nelson Memorial Fund at Timberland Bank, P.O.
