Obituary of Dixie Lee Nelson

None Dixie Lee (West) Nelson, 66 years old, was born on January 9, 1940 in Olympia, Washington, where she spent the majority of her life, up until her death on December 23, 2006. She was the daughter of Violet Lenhart & Clarence West. She married Harold ‘Les’ Nelson in 1959 and had one son, Terry W. Nelson, born in 1962. She was a loving mother and immaculate homemaker.In earlier years she enjoyed ceramics, other craft activities, and gardening. She loved country music, collecting antiques, making floral arrangements for her family and friends and decorating her homes and gardens. She was a member of the Olympia chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 43 years. Dixie Lee Nelson was preceded in death by her husband Harold ‘Les’ Nelson in 1988 & her father Clarence West in 1990. She is survived by her son Terry Nelson, his wife Joy, and 3 grandchildren, Tyler, 14, and Megan and Jordan, 12 years old. Dixie is also survived by her sister & dear friend, Jerry Anne Sanders (Richard), and two step sisters, Brenda Zielin (Ron) and Lenda Sundene (Richard). Dixie is also survived by her 87 year old mother, Violet Lenhart and her dear life long friends LouAnn Stiles, Ramona Selvidge, Barbara McAferty, Dottie Brasher and Lue Emans. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at The Prosperity Grange, on Saturday, January 20th, 2007, between 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. The Prosperity Grange is located at 3701 Steamboat Island Road, Olympia.
