Obituary of Dave Nelson

Dave Nelson Dave Nelson passed away February 20, 2010 at his home in Tenino. He was 49 years old. David was born on February 11, 1961 in Tacoma, Washington to his loving mom, Joyce (Fain) Nelson and birth father Edward Curley. David was raised by his mother Joyce and dad Roger Nelson. He lived in the Olympia area his whole life and attended North Thurston High School. He was co-owner of Northwest Barrier. Dave loved riding his custom made chopper, dirt-bikes, snowmobiles, sand rail, hunting and golfing. He enjoyed the love of his family. Dave lived life to the fullest and was considered an adrenalin junky. He was very outgoing and always the life of the party. Family and friends grew really close to him through his hobbies including motocross races, concerts, NASCAR, and riding his chopper. Dave is survived by his parents who loved him more than anything; his significant other, Wendi Nelson, her children Jackson and Taylor Bonsall; his daughter Mackenzie Joyce Nelson; his sisters Terri Huntley, Lori McBride, Juli Culver and Deni Nelson. He was preceded in death by his best friend John Ferry and his niece, Nellie. Family and friends enjoyed David’s fun loving and outgoing attitude and everyone wanted to be apart of his life. David had a heart of gold and we are all better people for having known him. We love him and will miss him forever. SPECIAL NOTE: My father “Dave Nelson” passed away at the age young age of 49 unexpected on February 20, 2010. On February 27th, I said my final goodbyes at Masonic Memorial Park where his spirits will always live on. My father was my best friend and feel as if no 20 year old should ever have to feel the pain that I have felt because of the loss of my father. The ceremony that took place on Feb. 27th was the most memorable event which included all of his close friends and family, and his pride and joy…..his Custom Chopper. After spending time with all of his close family and friends, I felt a great deal of closure from the pain, but also the start of my new life still holding my father’s hand while he leads the way.Although the funeral was amazing, it was also very expensive for a 20 year old, full-time college student. My father was worth every penny but decided I should start a fundraiser to raise money for the headstone that will be created after I raise enough. The Headstone that I felt was perfect for my father’s plot is around $2,000. I am doing whatever it takes to raise this money because the hard work will definitely pay off. All donations can be made at Bank of America, where I set up a account which is specifically for donations for my father’s headstone. Or you can give me a call at 360-259-4233 and we can figure out a easier donation plan. Please help me in this great cause and for my family to have a place to be with my father. Every penny is much appreciated and anything will help! Also, I am in the process of leaving donation jars at Ralphs Thriftway, Bayview, Daves Marketplace, and other places around Olympia, Tenino, and Tumwater area. These jars should be there by March 13th. Thank you! Thank you so much for all of your help! Mackenzie Nelson Kenzy_J@hotmail.com 360-259-4233
