Here is another one for you! At 6:05 am my sister's phone rang. She was awake and thankfully she heard the phone ring. It was my brave nana! She asked for my mom, my sister ran the phone down to my mother. Nana said "Dick ain't doing so well." I was asleep. It took my mom 20 minutes to get to Panarama city, oh how she sat with my grandpas hand and sat by his side...... 6:55 my Papa died.... he who was a brave soldier who fought his cancer! Now he was a soldier to me! He is my heroe! The heroe who changed my life! You will never be forgotten! R.I.P.
Your Grandchild,
Kyla M. Vansickel

Annette: As you know Ron and I were gone when Dick passed and only recently found out upon our return. I am so sorry for your loss. Dick was a wonderful person and always had a joke or funny story to tell even though it was plain to see he was in pain and didn't feel good at all. You were his soulmate and I am sure he is saving a place for you to be again by his side someday. Take care and know that Dick is out of pain now and in a much better place. Take care of yourself. When you see rain, just think of Dick telling all of his funny jokes to the rest and the rain is just laughing tears falling from heaven.

Where do I begin, you have been a part of my life every since my family moved up here. I cant remember a time when you weren't there for my family, from my dad and your Tricky Dicky car sales, to being one of my uncles best friends, and all of the love in between. Im sorry for all of the pain you went through these last years, just know your friends were waiting for you. Now you and my uncle Kent can enjoy those banana moon pies. So when you see my mom, my dad and my uncle and lets not forget Byron please give them all a big hug for me and tell them I miss them. You are at peace with some of the finest people I have ever known, and I am sure they picked you up in the finest cady they could find.
Your laugh, your jokes, and kindness will be missed, rest in peace my dear friend. Annette thank you for being there for him, he was very special to us.

Dick fought so hard for so long, I'm sure it's a relief for him to be out of pain and at peace. Annette, he will never leave you. You'll feel his kiss in every breeze and the warmth of his smile in every ray of sunshine. His eyes will twinkle in every star and his memory will wrap you in contentment, knowing that love never ends and you will be with him soon. But not too soon for we love you, too, and look forward to spending more time with you. Dick was an amazing man with a good soul, and he will be sorely missed.

To say Dick was a strong man is not a complete truth as he was also a very fragile, gentle and sensitive man. I believe he had many faces and showed the one we needed to see at the time we needed to see it. He had his serious side when his friends were in need, his humorous side when someone needed a laugh, his gentle sensitive side when someone was hurting or was in pain and his strong side while he faced the fight for his life. I have never known someone face illness with such grace, courage, faith and strength as Dick Neff. I believe he was able to defy all odds because of his strong faith. I hope his faith gives comfort to all his family and friends for we know he is now with God. He is no longer in pain and I pray that brings peace to all that love him. We will miss you Dick. I hope they have irons in heaven.

We will all miss Dick's gentle and thoughtful ways, and especially his wonderful sense of humor. He should have been a stand up comic as he had perfect timing and real wit. I'll never shop for Christmas presents without thinking of the comments about last year's presents....
Dick was such a fighter of cancer, but we all know he is in a much better place. Memories we all have of him and knowing he is finally at peace, should help ease the pain of those that love and miss him.

Dick, you Lived, Laughed and Loved hard. You married a very special lady, Annette, my friend. Then you became my friend and you two and Tom and I had a lot of laughs together.
What I remember most is your infectious smile and how you always cared about everyone. Thanks for being you! I always considered my Italian Grandma Noni a very knowledgeable lady. When I asked her why do people cry when babies are born and then they rejoice when people die, she said that we are all born into a life of hell and when we die we are set free. You are now free to watch over all your loved ones and when I see that star twinkle in the night sky I will know that is Dick smiling down on us. As Annette said you have graduated to a new, happier life. Love Nance and Tom.

Oh Papa how you will be missed! I promise to watch after mom, I know you will see to it that I do!!!! I will miss seeing your smile, hearing your jokes, and giving you hugs and kisses. It was hard to see you suffer, we all know why you did, you watched after so many people, never worrying about your pain but seeing to it that others were comfortable, it is hard to write this without crying knowing I cant see you at this time, but when the time comes for me to go home I hope to see your smile by the gate to heaven along with my RED pants you used to wash your car, you never know those might come in handy again someday! TRICK OR TREAT!!!! you silly guy, hugs and kisses love always and forever - Jamie
