Obituary of Michael Lee Mudgett

none Michael Lee “Mike” Mudgett, 66, passed away on August 16, 2004, at his home in Olympia, Washington. Mike was born in Everett, on March 15, 1938, to Lee and Patronella (Deffries) Mudgett. He was raised in the Seattle area, graduated from Edison Technical School, and attended the University of Washington. He worked for many years at the University of Washington, moved to Olympia in 1997 and retired in 2000. Mike loved the outdoors and liked to spend time walking the parks and marinas of the South Sound with his dog, Belle, and taking pictures. He has two daughters, whom he loved dearly; Leslie, from his first marriage to Rebecca Anderson, and Evan, from his marriage to Christina Telles O’Toole, his wife at the time of his death. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Philip. He is survived by his wife, Christina, of Olympia; brother, Steven “Ben” Mudgett of Sequim; his daughters, Leslie Ann Kutz, of Snoqualmie and Even Ruth Mudgett, of Olympia; stepson, Sean Michael O’Toole, of Kirkland, and three grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tyee Center, 5757 Littlerock Road SW, Tumwater.
