I was one of Dans nurses at Panorama City LTC facility. I got to know and admire Dan and I loved talking with him. When I told him that I was a nurse in the Army he always wanted to talk about his time in the service too. I will always remember him , he was a true gentleman, someone I wont forget! Dear Mary,
The Seahawks Playoff game is Saturday. What a fitting tribute to Dan! I wish I could drive him up there for This Game! I was thinking of Dan and thought to look online to find mention of him. I found this page and am so pleased to tell all what a good friend he was, how much pleasure I took in sitting with him over a hot cup of coffee, talking of the Corps and Fishin'.
I miss him still. I'll always remember this Proud, pigheaded wonderful man and friend. Semper Fi Dan!

Mary,
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your dear husband. I am hopeful that you will find comfort in knowing that amongst many other accomplishments, Dan lived a very successful life as the guardian of our community for many years. We owe him a great deal. He gave generously of himself to those he cared about, and I know he treasured you and his family.
With warmth and fondness,

Mary - you were married to a consumate public servant who assumed great responsibilities and took risks so the rest of us and our loved ones could be safe and secure. I know you will miss him and look back with sweet satisfaction at your time together as a couple and as contributors to a better life for those around you.
I'm sorry for your untimely loss.

A Policeman's Prayer
Dear Lord, be with me on my beat
this day and every day.
Grant that each weary block I walk,
may ease a brothers way.
Let me be kindly to the old
and to the young, be strong~
But let me triumph over those
whose acts are cruel and wrong.
And if according to your plan,
I am to lose my life,
Please bless with your protecting hand
my children and my wife.

Dear Mary - I am so sorry for your loss, Mary. I recall how compassionate you were whenever you spoke about Dan, even though you certainly had your plate full caring for him. Having experienced the loss of my first husband, I totally understand that no words can really decrease the grief you are now experiencing, but hopefully you will come to feel greater peace knowing that so many care. Keeping Dan there in your heart and mind will keep you going. And Dan is now at peace. God bless you and yours, Mary. Take care of yourself. Peace & Love, Fran

Mary,
I can completely relate to Dan's idea of Heaven. Although I never knew him, I imagine I'll be seeing him at some point in the future because I intend to go to that particular Heaven, too.
I am so sorry for your loss. I pray you find comfort and will be sending healing energy to you and your family.

Mary - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of sorrow. I was very proud to have started my years of service as a reserve deputy with TCSO under Dan. He was a good man who I respected very much. I also read with interest the article/advertisement about your new house you built together, as it was about the time that Carol and I were designing and building our new house. I only wish you and Dan could have enjoyed yours longer together.

Mary,
I know how much you’ve been through, especially these past few months, and I admire your strength, courage, passion, and love for Dan. Please know that he is in a peaceful place, and will always be by your side. May your heartfelt memories be close to your heart forever! Make sure to continue to take the dogs to get their “pup cups” and save some ice cream for you too. As you know… my prayers and thoughts are always with you.
God Bless, Tami

Mary, we wish to tell you that Dan was a very good working friend and we feel that he did a lot for law enforement and for Thurston County. He had an interesting life that we did not know about because he never bragged about it. From personal experience we know he was a very honest man. We were proud of him.
