Obituary of Minnielu Mills

Minnielu H. Mills was born 11/25/24 in La Puente, California. She died 3/25/08 at Garden Courte Memory Care Community surrounded by her loving family. Minnielu grew up in Southern California on a citrus ranch. She attended college at UCLA and Pepperdine. In 1946, she married Robert Mills and moved to Spokane, where he graduated from Whitworth college. He went on to seminary in California and became a Presbyterian minister. They returned to Washington where Bob pastored churches in Wapato, Seattle, and Spokane. They moved to Olympia in 1969 where Robert served as executive of the Olympia Presbytery until retirement in 1987. After many years as a devoted housewife and mother, Minnielu returned to work in 1969. She worked in banking, as a church secretary, and as executive secretary for the Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council. After retirement, she and Bob enjoyed travel, wintering in Arizona, and church and family activities. Minnielu was preceded in death by her husband, Bob in 2003. She is survived by three sons, Donald (wife Susan) of Pasco, William (wife Sandra) of Olympia, and Walt of Sandpoint, Idaho. She's also survived by her grandchildren, Noah (wife Tracy) of Pasco, Izaak (Seattle), Kathryn (Seattle), Gabriel (Ashland, Oregon), Asa (Miami, FL) and Naomi (Missoula, MT) and great-granddaughter, Taylor. She will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Lacey Presbyterian Church, 3045 Carpenter Rd SE. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Presbytery Disaster Relief fund and sent to the Lacey Presbyterian Church - please make your check payable to "Flood Relief".
