Michael Brett Miller Michael Brett Miller, 61, of Aberdeen, Washington, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, with loved ones at his side. He died at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington, as a result of complications following aortic valve replacement surgery. One of five children, Mike was born April 18, 1950, to George and Fay Miller of Eureka, Montana. Mike grew up in Eureka and graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1969. After graduation, he spent most of his adult working life in and around the timber industry. He retired from Weyerhaeuser in Aberdeen in 2008. Mike loved spending time outdoors. Born and raised in Montana, he camped, hunted, and fished as much as he could get away with. Since moving to the coast, he had also enjoyed spending time on the beaches, exploring and taking pictures, with friends and family. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing the ocean with his treasured friends. A father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Mike will be missed by all. Mike is survived by his daughter and son, Kristy Miller Negri and Jason Miller; his grandchildren, Adam (18), Hadley (16), Lauren (15), and Abigail (5); his mother, Fay Miller; his sisters, Sherry Halseth, Becky VanHoy, Pam Larson, and Shelly Johnson; and all their families. He was preceded in death by his father, George Miller. Cremation has taken place. The family is planning to hold a service for Mike this summer. A wake on a warm day, food, family, and friends, telling stories and enjoying happy memories of the Mike we all knew and loved. An announcement will be sent out at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Mike’s name to a charity of your choice. He had several favorites - Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Humane Society, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Please leave memories of Mike or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
