Mr. Melusky was my high school math teacher, and he made geometry come alive for me. His sense of humor was always at the ready, and I looked forward to his class.
Seeing him with his wife Beverly at church was a reminder that life has its second acts, and with them can be found much happiness.

I was a student of Mr. Melusky in the late 70's, and even after all the time that has passed, when I heard about his passing I felt the world was a little less. Even as a young person I could feel he was someone special. I was not blessed by the math gods and Mr. Melusky spent many mornings before school started helping me. Even in my most dreaded subject he made it my favorite class. His kindness, respect for the kids, humor and grace is something I can still hear and feel. I was very lucky to have known him, even after all this time he still makes me smile. My heart goes out to his family.

Mr. Melusky was one of our favorite teachers at OHS. He was always there with
extra help if a student was struggling. One of our favorite memories is Mr.
Melusky whistling "High Noon" as he was going up and down the hallway at school.
I (Joan) am a teacher in the Olympia School District. I am proud to carry
on the fine tradtion of quality education that was set by those who taught
me. Mr. Melusky is at the top of that list for us.

My girls (Jean and Joan) were both in Henry's math classes at OHS. He was
especially important to Jean and helped her to pass Geometry. Warm wishes
to your family. I am still in Olympia and will celebrate my 92nd birthday this March.

My Grandpa was always there for me in life and on the softball field. I remember one day when I was sick and I stayed at his house for the day and we watched the wierdest show and we just laughed our heads off. Another time during summer when the raspberries were in "bloom", we picked one and ate three and occasionally we would throw some to the dog next door. I have had so many good times with my Grandpa that it's really hard to think that he is gone. I know that he had a good life and many good times with his family, friends, and travels.

Mr. Melusky was a great neighbor growing up. We played kick the can in front of their house on a regular basis growing up. He never minded (I don't think anyway) when we ate the sugar peas right out of his garden. You could always count on Mr. Melusky to be out and about in his yard with his bermuda shorts, baseball hat and stogey. You could hear him whistling from 3 doors down. He was truly a kind man.

I really enjoyed Hank through the years at OHS. There are many good memories. I couldn't have had a better friend working next door to me. I feel very sad for your sorrow, Bev, and for the rest of your family.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Melusky, especially while I was growing up and while I was in his geometry classes at Olympia High School. He was a good friend to my father, Bob Summers, who also taught mathematics and science at OHS. Mr. Melusky will live on in the memories of all the students he helped during his long teaching career.

Mr. Melusky couldn't have been kinder when he and I realized simultaneously that I was a hopeless math student. I will always remember that kindness and how nice it was years later to work a few shifts with him as a summer bottlehouse employee at Olympia Brewing Co.
