Obituary of Carol Terry McLaughlin

Viewing will be held at 11:00 a.m prior to service Carol Terry McLaughlin went to be with her heavenly Father on December 15, 2005. She was born to Walter Jay Spinning and Alta (White) on December 25, 1922 in Puyallup. She married Philip McLaughlin on June 11, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lacey. Philip was the love of her life and they shared nearly 65 years together. A loving wife and mother, Carol is survived by her husband, Philip and nine children: John (Nancy) of Alamogordo, NM; David, Olympia; James, Brinnon; Thomas, Yelm; Philip, Olympia; Roberta (Michael) Mobbs, Olympia; Theresa (Frank) Rush, Olympia; Barbara (Marvin) Robbins, Rochester; Mariah Laamb (Thomas Lee), Olympia; and sister Virginia Biscay, Olympia; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, five infant daughters and one infant grandson. Carol and Phil lived in Olympia until 1971 when they moved to Oakville. They returned to the Olympia area in 2002. Carol was a homemaker and was always ready to help those in need. There was always room for more at her table and in her home. She was a volunteer for Catholic Chore Services for over 10 years and involved in various guilds at St. Joseph’s Church in Elma. She loved gardening and flowers and never hesitated to share the fruits of her labors with family and friends. The family would like to thank Puget Sound Home Care and Hospice staff for the wonderful care and compassion Carol received while in their care. A special thank you to Peggy and Chrissy for their dedication. Services will be held on Tuesday December 20, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1021 Boundary St. SE, Olympia. Viewing 11:00a.m., Funeral Mass 12 Noon, Reception 1:00 p.m. and interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Elma, Washington at 3:00 p.m.
