Obituary of Barbara Louise McIntosh

Barbara Louise (Harris) McIntosh Barbara McIntosh passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011 with her family in attendance at her home in Olympia after a courageous year-long battle with Lymphoma. She was only 56 years old. She is survived by her only daughter, Tiana. Barb was born to Burrell and Mimi Harris in Kirksville, Missouri and has two brothers, Walter and Michael, and a sister, Heidi. After graduating from the University of Missouri, she came to Washington via Idaho and Oregon to be a Fish Biologist with the State of Washington. Settling initially in Montesano, she married Randy McIntosh, moved to Olympia, and 22 years and one child later, they divorced, remaining good friends as they raised Tiana. Barb was a devoted mother, enjoying hiking, camping, the ocean, the mountains, her work as a biologist, fitness, volleyball, travelling, family, friends, gardening, pets and many other people, places and things with Tiana. Barb asked that we thank everyone who so kindly helped in many ways over the last year. THANK YOU! Anyone wishing to make a donation in Barb’s name to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (http://www.seattlecca.org/) is encouraged to do so. “For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.” - Khalil Gibran To leave memories of Barb or condolences for the family, please click on "View Guestbook" below.
