Obituary of Michael Lyman McDonald

Michael Lyman McDonald Michael, 57, passed on peacefully at the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Seattle on October 10, 2011. Michael served as a medic in the Navy and he was a carpenter by trade and a member of the Carpenters Local Union No. 131. Michael was also the founder of Respect 4, a non-profit organization that provides family-centered support for individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their community. He was a relentless advocate for his youngest daughter, Jessica and for all individuals with disabilities. As “Neno’s” grandchildren will tell you, education was important to him, including homework and participating in sports and school activities. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Arwen Brown (Jesse) and Jessica Woodsum; grandchildren, Jordyn Harms, Colton Harms, James Brown and Keely Brown; father-in-law, Al Hedrick; and many friends and other family members. We miss you Neno. Please leave memories of Michael or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
