Mr & Mrs McCartney, I am sorry from the bottom of my heart that Dan has left us. I'm sure he has found peace as he now sleeps with the angels. He was truly loved and I will hold all our memories close to my heart.
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right up to heaven
And bring you back again
With Love,
Sheila

Randy, Jan and Brian,
Words cannot explain how we feel right now about your loss. We know that God's love is embracing your family and providing you with the strength to cope and the peace in your heart to move on. I only met Daniel once at the church, but I feel like I've known him for a lifetime because of all the moments we shared our burdens and praises during our home fellowship group meetings. We feel the loss as well because he has become part of our prayers. Please know that we are keeping you all in our prayers.

Randy and Jan,
I've been thinking about and praying for you since I heard. Words can't express the sorrow I feel. I noticed that my son Jeremy, and Daniel share the same birthday. I'm overwhelmed at the thought of this happening to our son. We are out of town for the week-end, and will miss the service. I'll come see you this week Randy. If I can help in any way, please let me know. That could be with school. Emalee and I will continue to pray for you. God Bless. See you soon.

The only word we had received is that Dan's body was found in the garage and we concluded from that that the cause of Dan's death was suicide, hence our card's message. No matter, his death is an incredibly difficult loss for you and our hearts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
With our love,

My heart goes out to you as you suffer the terrible grief over Dan's untimely death. Surely there is no greater pain for a parent than to lose a child ... I am profoundly sorry and hurt deeply for you. I'm asking God to draw you near as you endure the painful but necessary things that must be done in the next few days. Through it all, I'm praying that you'll find strength, courage and hope. May comfort come to you quickly as you hold fast to these words of Jesus: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you." His peace will come. One more thing ... I want to tell you that it is all right to lean on others when the grieving path is too steep to climb. Here, take my hand and my heart ... we'll take this journey together. You have my love and prayers, Kathy

Jan and Randy - I wanted you to know how much I and the entire faculty are thinking of you and your family. Each day here at CMS has begun with an update to the entire faculty. People have expressed their concerns for you and your family within the family here at CMS. Beyond that, I can only share that it is easy for a person at my stage of life with two older kids to personalize what you are going through. It leaves a hole inside just to think about it. We look forward to your return, and trust that God's presence will guide you in the next few days, weeks...
