Obituary of Ruth A. Larimer Martin

No visitation Ruth A. Larimer Martin Ruth was born June 5, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Virginia and Chester Ray Larimer. At the age of eight she moved to Vancouver, Washington. She graduated from Vancouver High School in 1946. She was married and later divorced. She worked for the Oregon Military District at the Vancouver Barracks. The unit moved to the Portland Air Force Base and became the 939th Tactical Airlift Group. Ruth was an Operations Flight Clerk for the 313th Troop Carrier Squadron flying C119’s. In 1968 she transferred with the unit to McChord Air Force Base where it was reassigned as the 939th Military Airlift Group. She left civil service and accepted a position with the State of Washington. Ruth attended school and became an accountant for a section of Office of Financial Management. She did accounts for several small agencies, one being the Governor’s office starting with Governor Evans and ending with Governor Gardener. She retired in 1990 after 21 years of service. Daughters, Selinda, Connie and Holly; sons-in-law, Robert, Karl and Larry; granddaughters, Kimberly, Karlee, Kari; and great grandsons, Patrick and Riley will all miss her. She will also be missed by her nieces and nephews and several close friends. She loved the beach. Her happiest times were the years she lived in Seaside. She loved mysteries and television game shows and all nature’s beauty. We love you Mom, G’Ma Ruthie, and Ms. M.
