Obituary of James Malicoat

James Joel Odell Malicoat James Joel Odell Malicoat, 80, passed away on January 9, 2010 in Olympia, Washington. He was born on August 6, 1929 to Oscar Odell and Nancy Ruby (Wise) Voyce in Emmett, Idaho. James joined the U. S. Army on March 12, 1951 serving in the USAR Engineers 6th Army. He was later assigned to the 298th Engineer Base in Korea. He received an honorable discharged on March 3, 1953. James lived in Olympia for 55 years. James worked in construction including the State of Washington as a carpenter for the Walla Walla State Penitentiary. He was very talented with the tools of his trade and would craft special projects for his sister, mother and his daughters. He loved to plant gardens. He was a member of the VFW Post #318. He is survived by his loving daughters, Cheryl Malicoat, Charlene LaBonte, Karen Foley, Nancy (Bill) Harris, Brenda (Mike) Raymond, Janet Suter and his sister Lorretta McManus of Rice Washington.
