Obituary of Earl M. Mahnkey

No visitation is planned. Earl M. Mahnkey Jr. passed away on August 27, 2009 after an extended illness. He was born in Tacoma, Washington, April 7, 1947.Earl was a graduate of Wilson High School (Tacoma) and Central Washington University. He retired from the State of Washington, Dept. of Labor and Industries. As an avid sports fan, Earl was a season ticket holder for Seattle Mariners games, a loyal Washington State University Cougar fan, and TV supporter of the Seahawks. Earl enjoyed traveling. His favorite places were the Philippines, Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. He visited Las Vegas frequently and enjoyed playing poker with friends, especially his cousin Jolene. Mostly Earl enjoyed spending time with family. He was the family historian with an acute memory for old friends and events. He held a special place in his heart for his neice Lisa, and his great neice and nephew, Madison and Levi. He is survived by his mother, Mary Mahnkey; sisters, Karen (Keith) Moorhead, and Nikki Blevins; niece, Lisa (Bill) Harrison; grand nephew, Levi Harrison; grand niece, Madison Harrison. He was predeceased by his father, Earl M. Mahnkey, Sr. The family would like to extend hearfelt appreciation to the doctors and staff of Hospice House for their compassionate care during Earl's illness. We would also like to thank his aunt, Peggy Ruehle and cousin Jolene Hall who visited him everyday. Your love and caring was overwhelming.
