If tears could build a stairway
and memories a lane.
I would walk right up to heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken
no time to say Goodbye.
You were gone before i knew it.
and only god knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness.
and secret tears still flow.
But now I know you want me to
mourn for you no more
To remember all the good times.
life still has to much in store
S ince you"ll never be forgotten
I plege to you today a hollowed
Place within my heart is where you"ll
always stay

Bob was an inspiration to many of us at Happy Hour. When we made him our Birthday Chair several years ago, only he was surprised when he did a thorough job of keeping track of our members' birthdays and getting them to come to the meeting for their commemoration. But it was in his daily life, coping with his brother's death years ago or his more recent health problems that he offered inspiration and made us pleased that he called us his friends.

I worked with Bob for many years at General Administration. I got to know him very well and we became friends. I remember the day that Bob came to work and announced that his watch was broken. He said that he would have to wait until the weekend so that his folks could help him buy another one. I told him that what he needed to do was go to a local store, find a watch he really liked, and buy it. So, during lunch that day, he went up to the store and bought a new watch. He was so excited about his purchase and had to show it to everyone. I was so proud, he had stretched his abilities that day and tried something new. I don't know if he was more excited about his new watch or the fact that he had gone by himself and bought it. Another special event was when he bought his mobile home. He was so proud that he was finally investing in something instead of paying rent. In the time that we worked together, I saw Bob grow in so many ways and am glad that I had the opportunity to work with him. He taught me a lot about patience and how important the little things in life are. He had a memory that was incredible and constantly surprised me with his abilities. I know that Bob loved his family very much and please know that my thoughts are with you at this time. He will be missed!
