Obituary of Jean Lois Leighton

Jean Lois Leighton, 91, of Lacey passed away at home on January 16, 2010. Jean was born August 14, 1918 in Traceyton, WA to Harry L. and Odie Alice Case. She attended High School in Bremerton, and July 3, 1936 married John Leigh Leighton also in Bremerton. All of her adult life she worked hard as a domestic engineer in her own home. She spent her life in Washington, having resided in Ocean Shores, Renton, Retsil and Bremerton. She had several interests and hobbies such as, crocheting, walking with the “out to lunch bunch”, and bowling. Jean was also a member of the Mountain View Church of the Nazarene, Tumwater.Surviving Jean are her son Ronald, Lacey, WA; daughter, Bonnie Reeves, Lacey, WA; beloved daughter-in-law Sue Leighton; 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Richard Case, Shelton, WA and Walter Case, Bremerton, WA; and 1 sister, Ruth Nearhoff, Port Orchard, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters. Family suggests donation made in Jean’s name be made to Providence Sound Hospice, 3432 So.
