Diane Ledesma

Obituary of Diane Ledesma

DIANE E. LEDESMA Diane Eunice Ledesma was born Diane Esterbrook on July 11, 1935 in Aberdeen, WA where she grew up. She passed away on December 30, 2008 in Olympia. Diane met her husband, Bud when they were small children living in the same apartment complex. They later reconnected as teenagers and were married in Cosmopolis on August 14, 1954. They made their home in Hoquiam and began raising their four boys, Randy, Robert, Robbin, and Roger. They later moved to Olympia where Diane’s love of children carried over into her career choices. She ran a mini childcare center for many years out of her home. She eventually became Assistant Director and later Director of the Teen Parent Program at Olympia High School. Diane’s strong love for her family led her to make the decision to stay home and take care of her grandchildren. Diane loved fabric and quilting and enjoyed attending quilting events from time to time. She enjoyed working in her garden and feeding the birds and the squirrels. She enjoyed traveling and playing with her grandchildren and attending various events her grandchildren were involved in. Diane was a member of the Olympia Yacht Club and loved exploring Puget Sound over the years with her husband. Diane was a woman of incredible strength and courage which was never more evident than during her illness. She never lost her sense of humor which put everyone around her at ease. She was always more concerned for others than herself and even when she was in terrible pain she never complained. Diane’s life is an inspiration to everyone who came in contact with her. We will miss you “Mom/Grandma”. We lost you much too soon. Your loving husband and family.
