I had Mr Lambirth for English in the early '80's. I still remember all that he taught me, and I cannot thank him enough. He taught us so many things, and not just English. I will never forget him. I am saddened to hear he has passed. My sympathies.

Mrs. Lambirth. I am sorry I found out the news of Mr. L's passing so late. He was one of my English teachers and I was not only a student, but one of his aides. He always had funny stories to tell and would make up ones on the fly. I remember when I read his first detective fiction and always looked forward to the next. Whenever I was back in town and he was still teaching, I wiuld stop by the class to say hello. One of the funny things he did was tell his class I was a former student who was now living in Hollywood pursuing what promised to be a very lucrative acting career. I did not know he had told his class this at the time as I was visiting Mr. Fairchild. After class, as the kids filed out, they all were staring at me and a couple even asked for my autograph! When he told me what he had said I was in tears laughing. I'll always remember his humor, his cigars, his fishing stories and his laugh. Mr. Lambirth, I will always have these wonderful memories of you and you will missed. Sincerely, Kirsty Tosh Class of '74.

Pat & Family. Toni and I are saddened at the loss of Frank. As a new teacher Frank became my mentor and I know many of my talents I use today in teaching were from his guidance. Even though the distance caused us to grow apart , I will never forget his rare sense of humor and the good times we shared teaching together. I hope you and the family are well. Sincerely, Lamar

Mr. Lambirth was my English teacher during my freshman or sophomore year of high school (too long ago to remember!). I had always hated English until Mr. Lambirth's class. I'll never forget reading Caesar and looking forward to the discussion about it the next day in class. Imagine, me excited about reading Caesar!! Mr. Lambirth is also responsible for getting me interested in "ghosts" and "hauntings". I think I'd always been interested, but he gave me permission to be "different". To this day, I talk about him every chance I get to whomever will listen. I'll never forget him. I have to confess that someone told me he passed away a long time ago, so I never pursued contacting him and letting him know what an impact he had on my life. When I read his obituary in the paper, I was deeply saddened that I had wasted the opportunity. Although, I'm sure he is perfectly aware of how I felt about him, and he now knows how much he meant to me. We are all fortunate to have known him. Thanks for letting me talk. Jackie Mintz

Frank, I’m grateful for every week of the two years I was blessed to know you and I mourn the weeks and years ahead without you. You are a generous, kind, and loving soul whose absence will be sorely missed. May the stars welcome you warmly home when they see the beauty and radiance of your spirit and recognize you as one of their own. I miss you my friend and I look forward to seeing you again someday.

Frank was a fellow teacher, fishing partner and friend of my dad, Bob Ramsey, when he lived in Placerville. I never met Frank, but I had the privilege of reading aloud the wonderful eulogy that he wrote for Pop's memorial service in 1995. It was a fine piece of writing, and it meant a lot to our family.

Frank provided the most helpful material I have ever been exposed to about writing fiction. His approach was straight forward - focus on what improvements could be made to create a publishable manuscript. He was generous and hospitable. I will miss him.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
