I just came across Mrs. Kuula's name and it brought back such warm memories of being her student assistant in Home Ec at Chinook Jr. High (65 or 66). She was such a sweet person and I can only imagine what a loss this was to her family. (Guess that is why we have so many memories....)

While reading past news of the Olympia Friendship Force 25th Anniversary dinner we saw a memory board filled with pictures of the Kuulas. They were a loving couple and it is fitting that one of my memories is of Gloria making heart shaped waffles tableside for five people. She made it look easy. Gloria had elegance and grace. Our much belated condolences to the family.

Mr. Kuula,
Mrs. Kuula will be greatly missed. I had her as my home Ec. teacher in 1965, where I learned to sew. She was a wonderful and patient teacher, and dearly loved by all. I still sew today thanks to her patience and expert sewing skills. My prayers go with you and your families. Earlie

I met Gloria and John some years ago as neighbors in the Oldport community. They were always friendly and gracious. It was my pleasure to see them at community events - such a kind and loving couple, engaged and warm. Gloria was a lovely lovely woman and it was a pleasure to know her. Warm sympathy to John.

Gloria was grace and style. She had a smile and was willing to help others. She and John attended my campaign events, and ususally brought Dorothy with a plate of her homemade chocolate chip cookies. John, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.

Dear Mr Kuula and your family. I wish you strength and peace during this time of such sadness. Though I didn't know the two of you very long, your love for each other made a lasting impression on me. I will never forget you and am grateful for the time that I was honored to spend with Gloria. Peace be with you.

Mrs. Kuula was one of my teachers at NTHS around 1960. She was a very nice and pretty lady. I enjoyed seeing her and John at some of the NTHS reunions. Condolences to John from me and from the entire class of 1961 from NTHS.
