Obituary of Judi Jones

Judi was born on May 14, 1940, in Olympia, Washington, to Tom and Lila (Cason) Jones. She passed away on December 7, 2017, at home in Olympia. Judi graduated OHS with the Class of ’58. Judi held many positions within the legislative branch of state government throughout her career. However, at age 40, she was ready for a change, so she sold her VW Beetle and took off for Hawaii (with no job in sight!). She drove around the big island and stopped at the Kona Hilton Hotel and was hired on the spot as Executive Secretary to the Manager. She stayed in Hawaii for 10 years. Upon returning from Hawaii, Judi moved in with her sister, Sharon, and they continued to live together for almost 40 years. Judi never married but was a “Great Auntie Mame” to her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sister, Sharon Scholl of Tumwater, WA; brother, Tom “Tucker” Jones of Green Valley, AZ; nieces, Marilyn Atwater (Kim) of Port Orchard, WA, Anne West of Olympia, Traci Tenhulzen (Mike) of Woodinville, WA, Stacey Chisam (Craig) of Entitat, WA; and nephews, Charles Scholl of Cleveland, OH, David Scholl (Darla) of Bedford, TX, and Tom “Tucker” Jones (Christene) of Tenino, WA; her ex-sister-in-law, Carol Jones; and her best friend, Marva Marichal. Judi was fun-loving, adventurous, and “one of a kind.” She will be greatly missed.
