Obituary of Carol Kinnear

CAROL KINNEAR Carol Kinnear, 66, passed away October 3, 2008 in Providence Centralia Hospital of complications related to Alzheimer’s. Born September 25, 1942 in Petersburg Alaska where she was raised and completed high school, she later attended business school in Seattle. Her Marriage to Joe Heikkila produced three children Kurt, Kristen and Kari. Carol spent most of her working career as a confidential secretary with DSHS. Carol loved her kids and especially her grandkids. She also found a unique peace and joy in living on the water, which is where she spent most of her life. Carol was not one to miss a social event but also immensely enjoyed the company of one of her cats, friend(s) and a glass of wine at sunset. Carol was a past member of the Ladies of the Moose and Emblem Club in Petersburg, Alaska. She is survived by son Kurt Heikkila, daughters Kristen Tennis of Chino California and Kari Heikkila of Olympia Washington, 3 grandchildren, Rylee, Kolsi and Cody, and sisters Sandra Hutton of Medford Oregon and Miriam Cofer of Hennessey Oklahoma. There will be a party to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 1st at 4pm at Odd Fellows Park -6500 79th Av. NE, Olympia. A second celebration will be held 4 pm Friday June 26, 2009 at the Elks Lodge in Petersburg, Alaska.
