Obituary of Lena King

Lena Baker King Lena Baker King, 95, a 35 year prior resident of Cosmopolis and a 35 year resident of Olympia, passed away March 28, 2009 at home in Olympia with family present. She was born December 21, 1913 in Alberta Canada to Gottlieb and Mary Heim. Lena became a U.S. citizen on June 16, 1943. On January 18, 1932 she married Howard Baker in Yakima WA. He died May 15, 1974. Lena married Paul King December 30, 1976 in Aberdeen WA. He died November 4, 2002. She worked as a checker at Hoquiam Safeway for 20 years and as an Office Manager for Retail Clerks Union in Aberdeen for about 10 years. Lena loved her flowers and gardening and has knitted and crocheted all her life. She enjoyed her trips to Reno and had no fear of trying fun things like riding hot air balloons and white-water rafting in her retirement years. She was an avid member of the Rebekah Lodge #26 in Cosmopolis where she made some life-long friends. Lena is survived by 3 Sisters, Ida Cravens, Richland, Martha Hahn, Springfield OR, Mary Jane Duffy, Yakima; also 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Rourke; son, Larry Baker; 2 sisters, Emma Heim and Clara Sheets; 2 brothers, Robert Heim and Eddie Heim Memorial Donations may be given to your favorite charity in the name of Lena Baker King. A funeral service will take place at the Masonic Center, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater WA 98501. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Cosmopolis.
