Obituary of John S. Kilmer

No visitation John S. Kilmer, 74, of Shelton, died April 2, 2007 from Multiple Myeloma. He was born February 27, 1933 in Port Angeles to John P. and Hattie E. (McKelvy) Kilmer. In Forks, he graduated from high school. On July 10, 1953, in Forks, he married Jackie Hamilton, who survives. From 1953-1955 John was in the United States Army stationed in Fort Lewis and Berlin, Germany. After the military, he worked as a busheler for about 40 years and was a Forest Crew Supervisor for the State of Washington. Prior to moving to Shelton, John lived in Rochester and Forks. First in his life was the love of God, family was second. He had interests in gardening, mechanics and anything else to keep busy. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Forks and Jackson Prairie. John served as a church board member for many years. Including the love of his life, Jackie, he is survived by son, Brad Kilmer, of Shelton; daughter, Lisa Hendricks, of Port Angeles; brother, Gary Kilmer, of Forks; two sisters, Nellie Lovin, of Tacoma and Pauline Hoptowit, of Seattle; three grandchildren, Daneille, Andrew and Michael Kilmer. John was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Paul, Tim and Frank Kilmer and 2 sisters, Florence Thornton and Marg Osborn. Two memorial services will be held: 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Assembly of God Church in Forks and on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Jackson Prairie Assembly of God Church in Chehalis.
