Nelda was my sister Colleen's and my baby sitter in the early 1960's. My memories of her are of her quick wit and her determination in getting through some difficult times. She always cared for us as if we were her own.

I had the honor of meeting Nelda on several occassions from working with her son John and daughter-in-law Trish on selling some of their homes. Nelda was a good person and I wish I could have gotten to know her more. May the memories live on and may god help comfort you and your family.

With deepest sympathy I am truly sorry, she will always be missed. I will miss our talks. She was always there when I just needed a pep talk, I will also miss the talks about the things she loved to do with Destyn. Specially the dollar store (one of his favorite places to go :) ) He sleeps with her fiberoptic light faithfully every night, I think waiting for her to meet him in his dreams... We love you Nelda (Grandma) We will catch up on our talks another day...

I'm sorry to hear Nelda passed away. I got to know Nelda while working with her and Paul in buying and selling homes of hers. I really enjoyed working with her and Paul could tell she was a special person with a lot of detrmination and 'true grit". I just lost my mother a couple months ago and all I can say is let the memories live on.
I'm sorry but I'm out of town this weekend and am going to miss the get together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I was very sorry to hear of Nelda's death... As a close friend of Paul's for many years, Nelda was like a second Mom to me. For years she made peanut butter fudge for me at Christmas time (even after I graduated from college and moved to the Midwest!) and I am sure I am still carrying some of it around my waist. She was always kind, pleasant and warm toward me and I always felt welcome in her home. I was often amused by her dry, wry sense of humor. It seemed that life always presented a tough course for Nelda and I am sure that she will find peace and comfort now... She left me with nothing but warm thoughts. rj

Ms. Kelly,
It was several years ago that I met you and felt immediately welcomed into your family and friendship. I always found your care and attention to me and how I was doing to always be a nice thing. I will forever hold you, the memories and your family as one of my most cherished treasures.

So very sorry to hear of Nelda's death. I am the daughter of Emma Hamon Clemens. I only met Nelda on a couple of occassions, twice when we made a trip to Washington. Naturally we never knew each other well, however, she is still a first cousin . Mother used to talk of all her nieces as if she knew them well. Again, I am very sorry for your loss and we will remember your family in prayer.
If you ever come back to West Virginia we hope you will find the time to visit us. I just returned to WVA after being gone for over 40 years, it is nice being home.
Love in Christ
Ruby Erwin
