Such a loss to all of us; the forever fun Jimmie Neil. The 5 Great Falls Keating cousins were always excited when we knew Jimmie and Eddie were coming to visit. The picnics at Gibson Park with Grandpa, Ryan Dam, the sleepovers at 607 and the "boys" sneaking down the alley at 2320 in the middle of the night. And, of course, the "girls" swearing "we won't tell." We will miss you Jimmie but treasure the memories you have left us with. Rest in peace.

Very sad that my Uncle Jim is gone. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him growing up over the years. The many Christmas, Thanksgiving and other holidays at my parents when he was there are times I will always cherish. His great laugh where he would inhale, tilt his head back and laugh as he exhaled and leaned forward was awesome. As a kid growing up, I always tried to think of things to say or do that would make him laugh. The joy in his face and the sound of his laughter was very contagious and made the gamily get-together that much better. There was never a lack of topics to discuss when I was with my Uncle Jim. He was so knowledgeable about things that were very interesting. Whether it was detailed questions about Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, Jim Bowie, Kit Carson, Jim Bridger, Geronimo, Custer and others, or any early American history, I always left our discussions knowing a lot more about the topic. My Uncle Jim always treated me like a man (including the time I was in the 5th grade and he let me watch Conan the Barbarian when my parents were gone!), he was never patronizing or judgemental and I was always grateful for that. My Uncle Jim was a very hard working man who was full of honesty and integrity. His work ethic, character and all his other qualities are why I looked up to him. I am very grateful and lucky that I got to spend some time with my Uncle Jim just a few days before his passing, I just wish it could have been more. May you rest in peace Uncle Jim, say hi to Grandma for me and God Bless!

It was a wonderful blessing having Jimmie as a brother-in-law and friend. Even though he worked seven days a week for so many years, he always found time to get together to share a few drinks, a good meal, and fun times. Jimmie always amazed me with his knowledge and love of history. He knew so many facts and details about so many subjects. And football! He had to be that sports biggest fan! Jimmie and Ed were always there for each other. Jim watched over Eddie and always let him tag along in their younger years. And Ed was always there for Jim helping in every way he could to make him comfortable and help ease his pain in their later years. Jim can be proud of his daughters, good mothers and wives, wonderful young women each in their own way. I'm thankful you are out of pain, Jimmie, and once again close to Mom. I love and miss you but take comfort knowing you are out of pain and resting in God's endless love and mercy.

Gone too soon. I'm going to miss my big brother. It's not what we had hoped for our retirements. But, no more pain. If you ever needed anything and he had it, it was yours. Great memories: 1950 Buick, comic books, cross country trips with Mom and Dad, Great Falls & Choteau with the relatives, back yard football with the "big" kids, delivering morning papers in the snow in R.I., Newport Creamery's "awful-awful", Harley, Triumph, '55 Chev, free sodas at McLaughlins, bacardi and a good steak (even without the steak), Barbeque in Lawrence, target practice at the quarry, a short trip to Seattle that took two days, hunting in Moses Lake, watching a good movie or football game. His knowledge of Colonial and Western firearms was amazing. Too many memories to list. Jimmie, say hi to Mom for me. I know how much you missed her. Semper Fi, Marine, and God Bless!
