Obituary of John M. Katrina

John M. Katrina, 54, a resident of Olympia, was born March 8, 1956, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to John J. and Sylvia Katrina. He passed away November 9, 2010, of cancer in Olympia, Washington. John received an AA degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Shoreline Community College in Seattle. He also attended Evergreen State College and Penn State. He married Sharon Stratton in 1985. From 1982-2010, John worked for the bridge division of the Washington State Department of Transportation as a bridge inspector and load rater. John loved to talk and share ideas. He always had an opinion on something. He enjoyed cars (Mercedes), dirt biking with his son Jason, woodworking, backpacking and climbing in his younger years, and building anything. He loved remote controlled planes and was a member of the Puget Sound Silent Flyers. John is survived by son Jason and daughter Lacey, brother Mark Katrina, sisters Lisa (Katrina) Hill and Karen Katrina, and mother Sylvia Katrina.
