Obituary of Marion B. Juhl

Marion B. “Junior” Juhl Marion, 81, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on December 22, 2011 in Olympia, Washington. He was born October 15, 1930 to Marion Arthur and Violet Marie Juhl, was raised and lived his 81 years of life on the same piece of property in Olympia. He graduated from Griffin Grade School and Olympia High School in 1949, and was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served from August 21, 1951 to August 20, 1953. He then worked at the Olympia Brewery for more than 36 years. Marion loved life and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and sports. He was a basically shy person who jokingly claimed that “the devil made me do it.” He is survived by his wife, Lilla; three sons, Mike (Laurel), Jim (Nancy), and Joe (Mindie); three grandchildren; and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his son, Pat. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 100 Harrison St. #200, Seattle, WA 98119 or www.alz.org. An informal gathering of friends and family will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., January 29, 2012 at Prosperity Grange Hall, 3701 Steamboat Island Road NW, Olympia, WA 98502.
