Obituary of Milton Josephson

Milton "Milt" Josephson Milton Josephson, 89, of Olympia, died November 13, 2008. Milton was born March 17, 1919 in Seattle to Joseph and Freda (Block) Josephson. He move to Olympia from Seattle at the age of four. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1938 and then attended the University of Washington. On December 20, 1950 Milton married Dorothy Mathias. She preceded him in death in 1999. Milton had served in US Army from March 5, 1941 to September 1, 1945 during WW II in the South Pacific Theater. He started his career as a retail salesman selling men's clothing in Olympia, then had a Gallenkamp shoe store in downtown Olympia for 20 years. After that, he sold furniture for the rest of his career, starting at Goldberg's in Olympia, and ending at Ken Schoenfeld Furniture, where he retired at 81 years old. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Milt loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed going to Reno and in his later years, the Red Wind Casino. He also enjoyed watching sports. Survivors include his daughter Debbie Harding (Roger) of Olympia; his sister, Mary Beatty of Olympia; also 2 grandchildren, Jenny Fitch (Paul) and Scott Harding (Heather); and 2 great grandchildren, Kyle and Rachel. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 at Temple Beth Hatfiloh Historic Cemetery within Masonic Memorial Park, 455 North St SE, Tumwater.
