Obituary of Wilma Arlene Jones

Wilma Arlene Jones Wilma Arlene Jones passed away on November 8th, 2007 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on March 18, 1930 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Elmer and Anna (Tucker) Egolf. She attended the original McLane Grade School and Olympia High School. She met Marion Jones at the Triple XXX Drive-in where she was a carhop and married him 2 weeks later on April 17th 1948. In 1964 Wilma and Marion opened Jones Appliance Repair Shop and ran it until retirement in 1986. She was also co-owner of a cleaning business called the Mopettes with four of her good friends in the 1980's and a member of the McLane Fire Department Auxiliary. Wilma loved cooking, canning, gardening and frequent trips to Reno and the local casinos. Wilma belonged to Ladies Auxiliaries of the V.F.W., YMCA and The Elks Lodge. Survivors include her devoted husband of 59 years, Marion Jones; two sons, Daniel Lee Jones (Dianna), Tacoma, WA, James Dean Jones (Mary), Olympia, WA; one daughter, Vickie Anna Jones, Tenino, WA; one brother, Darrel Egolf (Vi), Olympia, WA; also two grandchildren, Adam and Mackenzie Jones. Two brothers, Myrln and Billie Egolf preceded her in death. The family would like to thank the staff at Providence Western Washington Oncology and the staff at Providence St. Peter Hospital for their excellent care during Wilma’s illness.
