Obituary of Phyllis M. Jones

Phyllis passed away on August 16, 2006 in Lacey, Washington. She was born in Seattle on June 20, 1922 to Hugh and Gladys (Attwood) Tripp. Phyllis, the oldest of three children, was raised and attended school in Rochester. She graduated from Rochester High School in June of 1940. Phyllis married V.W. "Bud" Jones in August of 1940. She retired from the Washington State Department of Licensing. Her greatest joy was her family. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's and great- grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. Her hobbies included knitting, reading, and playing cards. Phyllis was a member of Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Bud; brother, Wayne; and sister, Gloria. She is survived by her son, Richard V. "Dick" Jones (Diane); granddaughter, Jenifer Shaner (Kraig); grandsons, Richard T. (Ellen), Douglas (Cynthia), and Gregory (Amy); and eight great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Dolores Tripp; three nieces; and one nephew. Graveside service will be at Odd Fellows Memorial Park on Monday, August 28, 2006, at 1:00 p.m.
